Movies with real men

September 16th, 2009  |  Published in Being a man

As I told you on my “How to act like a man” page, watching movies with great men is a great way to learn masculine body language.

My favorite movies are:

  • Casablanca
  • The Maltese Falcon
  • For a Fistful of Dollars
  • James Bond movies with Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan or Daniel Craig
  • Top Gun
  • Gone With The Wind
  • Gladiator
  • Braveheart

This is short list. If you want to read a longer one, then check this out on justaguything.com.

Or tell us, what’s your favorite movie!

Steve Pavlina: How to be a man

September 16th, 2009  |  Published in Being a man

I just found Steve Pavlina’s classic article: “How to be a man”. Contrary to me, he says that there are 10 rules to live as a man:

  1. Make real decisions
  2. Put your relationships second
  3. Accept failure
  4. Be confident
  5. Express your love actively
  6. Re-channel sex energy
  7. Face your fears
  8. Honor the masculinity of other men
  9. Accept responsibility
  10. Die well

Every man should be able to save his own life

September 16th, 2009  |  Published in Being a man

Here is an interesting article that I found on artofmanliness.com.  Earle Liederman, who wrote the book called “Endurance” says that every man should be physically fit enough to save his own life in an emergency.

He sets out five fitness benchmarks that indicate whether a man is up to this task. None require you to be able to bench press 500 pounds or have six pack abs. Rather, the benchmarks focus on having the strength and endurance to run, swim, or pull yourself to safety.

If you’re looking for a fitness goal, the five fitness benchmarks Liederman lists are a good place to start.
